About AutoBro
The mobile mechanic co-pilot for every job, every fault and every vehicle.
AutoBro is a workshop-ready web app that turns a vehicle identifier — either a 17-character VIN or a year/make/model search — into a full mechanic job card, a live parts comparison, or a guided diagnostic session. It is built to help mobile mechanics, home technicians and small workshops work faster, avoid guesswork and never act on unverified claims.
VIN decoding
AutoBro uses the free NHTSA vPIC database to decode a 17-character VIN into exact build data: year, make, model, engine, trim, body style, drive type, transmission and manufacturing plant. This gives you more accurate fitment than a year/make/model search alone and reduces the chance of ordering the wrong part or applying the wrong spec.
Job cards
For any job you type in, AutoBro builds a structured job card: fastener-by-fastener torque values in Nm and lb-ft, tightening sequences, exact tool sizes and types (Torx, spline, hex, OEM special tools), fluid capacities and specs, an overview of the procedure, safety warnings and OEM part numbers with aftermarket cross-matches.
Live parts & pricing
Each job card lists OEM and equivalent part numbers. When you tap a part, AutoBro searches the live web for suppliers and prices, then returns sorted offers with direct links. You see who has the part, what it costs and whether it matches your vehicle — not a static catalogue.
Guided diagnostics
When something is wrong but you are not sure why, AutoBro asks adaptive questions, then returns a ranked list of possible causes, confirming tests and repair steps. Every claim is tagged as verified, likely or unverified, with sources where available. The tool is explicitly blocked from inventing model-specific figures such as pressures, torques or voltages.
Anti-misinformation guardrails
AutoBro downgrades any claim the model cannot back with a retrieved source. It separates engineering reasoning from verified data, warns on high-risk systems (brakes, fuel, SRS, high voltage), and flags trade-reported knowledge as field-reported rather than verified. If a source does not match your exact build, the report tells you so.
Open web data
AutoBro combines public databases (NHTSA), AI-structured reasoning and live web search to keep answers current. It does not rely on a single locked catalogue, so new vehicles, superseded part numbers and fresh technical bulletins can be surfaced as soon as they appear online.
What AutoBro is not
AutoBro is a research and reference assistant, not a replacement for a qualified technician or manufacturer documentation. Always verify critical safety data, torque values and repair procedures against the OEM workshop manual before carrying out work.
